Jesper Holm (Denmark)
Jesper Holm is a passionate vocal jazz enthusiast.
He teaches Innovative Rhythmic Choir Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark as well as at Codarts conservatory in the Netherlands, alongside Merel Martens.
Jesper has given workshops on a wide range of topics, such as: Harmonic understanding and good intonation. His many years of experience with complex vocal jazz charts give him the basis for a methodology which includes harmonic examples in different styles; vocal games and exercises; and ways to make singers feel comfortable while having fun. By knowing their function, the singers learn to get this beautiful, challenging harmonic universe in tune.
Jesper is amazing at getting you familiar with the intricacies of vocal jazz while putting a smile on your face.
Jesper also does lectures and workshops in many EU countries and China. These have included: The World Symposium on Choral Music, Aarhus Vocal Festival, Polyfollia France, Kurt Thomas Conducting Course (NL), China International Choral Festival, Nordklang and Vocal Jazz Summit, Mainz.
He is also the Conductor/arranger for the vocal jazz group Touché: an a cappella group of 12 singers that has demonstrated its unique performance style both nationally and internationally and has frequently shared the stage with groups such as The Swingle Singers and The Real Group.
